Short question, does this game finally have campaign mode pvp like l4d or still not?

Short answer: The devs gave up on that a long time ago.

There's lots of issues that would require heavy workarounds since the game was primarily pve focused and the maps and specials were not made with player controlled SI in mind. Pvp was an after thought and this is especially the case with campaign versus.

pvp in l4d works a lot better because the specials are fast glass cannons. In B4B the specials are beefy, but in turn they have telegraphed attacks patterns and weakspots. Add recoil management into the mix and you have something that plays vastly different from l4d. It plays more like VT2 or KF2.

Swam being ill received also helps bring home the point that maybe pvp in B4B may not even be worth the time and effort but it was also not liked for more reasons than one. personally i'm not surprised in the slighted that mode was dropped like it was. Even with vast improvements you would still likely only have a handfull of people who actually like playing it. The pvp tag on the store page should just be removed at this point.

okay, because i only would play it when it has something like l4d had. thanks for answer. game is dead. gg TRS. you kill your own games like evolve etc. always call it from the developers from l4d but you just bring up ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. it seems you reached your horizon with l4d and it only can get worse since then.

Yep, it's cuz they didn't pull any actual developers from L4D, mostly artists. They got like 6 people from Valve. There was 1 developer they pulled and that person turned into.. well, not a developer, think it was an artist I can't remember.

So it's not from the developers of L4D. It's from people who worked in the same company as L4D's developers.

Only a small number of players would actually play it in comparison to how many players play PvE so it wouldn’t be worth the effort.

Only a small number of players would actually play it in comparison to how many players play PvE so it wouldn’t be worth the effort.

This game desperately needs all the players it can get so adding a decent PvP mode would go a long way here.
That's just wishful thinking though since we all know this game is "done" now. Now it's time for it to slowly but surely bleed out.

Devs never planned on having PvP campain, they were against the idea. That's way they made Swarm mode instead, and that's why it was dead on arrival and still is dead to this day. Many people asked for it, Devs said "no chance", so many people dropped the game. Because TRS didn't live up to their promises of making B4B a successor to L4D, instread it was a suckcessor.

You could add [insert game feature here] and hide behind that excuse but it wouldn't make sense to do it either way. You could say that for any game really.

People have been asking for it ever since this game released. Not like that matters since these devs don‘t listen to their community anyway.
But still, PVP is here. The very least they could have done is work on swarm in any way but they abandoned it right from the very beginning.

True but that's not what we're doing. They've already added PvP. The mode is just trash and it got abandoned pretty much right after they released it.

They already have the thing everyone wants, they just didn't do anything with it, which screams wasted time, potential, and resources that could've been spent on other things.

hopefully on some day valve will make a l3d on their newest engine. i would be okay if it is pretty much the same.
the only thing they need to change is maybe some new infected but not a must have. and maybe a new campaign with 4 fresh maps.

How about L4D 1 and 2 Campaigns fully redone, and 4 new survivors starring in 4 new campaigns?

So far everything they did was not worth the effort, which is pretty obvious considering the playercount and the ratings.

Sure but I say it from the perspective of L4D and its ratio of PvE to PvP. It's reasonable to expect that with a higher price, higher system requirements, and higher skill ceiling, B4B has in comparison to L4D, that there would be a far worse PvE : PvP ratio, in other words, far fewer players playing PvP in this game than is worth the effort to implement it correctly.

So them not listening to people who wanted PvP is perfectly reasonable to me. I am content with what B4B is now even if it's not made for everyone in mind (and not every game has to be).
