I selected "new to Civ 6" when starting my first game and so far the advisor has literally not said or offered anything after 70 turns. Also after a few turns the pop-ups you get after completing a civic or technology just stop happening, no card telling me the details or the nice quote narrated by sean bean. If I quit to desktop and then restart they'll work again temporarily and the advisor might even say a thing, but this game takes so long to load at the start I might aswell play another game while I wait, so I don't want to have to do that every time they turn off. Now I get a lot of people would love that but this is my very first play through of the game so what I wanted was a nice relaxing immersive experience to adjust to the new mechanics and this is really not a positive experience so far. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to stop it?

Nope.

I have the same issue.

This is definitely a bug related to the recent patch. Having the same problem where I don't get pop-ups for completed techs/civics at the start of the turn. They stopped after the first three turns or so. Also annoying cause it doesn't remind me to change my policies, even with Sukritract's cool Policy Manager mod.

It's not a mod issue. It's a bug.

They don't really do hot fixes. Might be fixed in the fall.

July 2018 ... still the same bug!

2022 and this issue still exists - picked up the game over the holidays and I am having this exact same issue while in the meantime, my brother also picked up the game and his advisor is chatty non-stop.
