Does anyone know if it is possible to transfer a gamepass save for Deathloop to the Steam version? From what I've read, simply finding and copying the save files from the folder game pass uses to the one steam uses does not work.

I'd like to buy the humble bundle but not if I can't transfer my save somehow.

Same question.. I found this guide to go the other way, but can't quite seem to reverse engineer it.

Yes, I saw that too and the fact that the OP could not manage to reverse it.

Why can game devs just not stick the same save format in the same location, regardless of the client? There is even a folder created by Microsoft just for saved games that hardly anyone uses. I love the PC but sometimes this kind of stuff makes it hard.

I don't think it's really about the game devs. In this case, it's about how Steam stores and manages game data (particularly cloud saves) vs. how Game Pass/Windows App Store does it. Maybe in the future there will be development tools making cross-save management easier, but considering PC Game Pass didn't really exist when Deathloop was developed, we can't be surprised that Arcane didn't consider it or the edge case of cloud cross-saves.

I tried to edit files with Notepadd++, but nothing happened. Anyone figured it out?
