I had already played this game, but it has been a while and I wanted to do a Monika run because the first time I went with Natsuki. I played up until the point where you start your first poem and decided I was going to continue tomorrow because I'm getting sleepy.

When you first boot the game, it throws you straight into the normal game menu with New Game, Settings, etc. There's no mention that the game has a client running behind the scenes.

But since I knew how the game played out and what happens to your local disk files, I got hella freaked out when I went to close the game down and it took me to the client. And the stark contrast of the cutesy vibe the game gives off versus the somber vibe the client displays just kinda spooked me for a moment. I was waiting for something crazy to happen.

It also doesn't help that it's 3am, but I thought I was in the clear for frights leaving the game before even doing the first poem.

Anyway, this is a quality game. It's interesting reading the dialog of the characters and realizing the foreshadowing that I never caught the first time around. I look forward to the side stories. I'm guessing the devs added more content? I suppose I'll find out!
