Nexus mods just updated with mods for this game. Lots of visual changes available, I grabbed the psp portraits pack. Go help yourselves.

I'm messing around enemy values with the data extracted from the game with Memoria, and am thinking about making a difficulty mod for personal use. I just went and doubled the attack values for enemies in the starting areas, and things feel a lot more challenging - I actually need to use potions to not die to the monsters leading up to Mist, which feels similar to when I first played the DS version though a bit overturned, but so far it's fine. I also added the HP values of the DS version, and increased enemy agility to match the characters.
The thing I'd love to actually fix is the ATB always favoring the player. Even at a 100 points of Agility difference, characters still act first in the first turn in a normal battle situation. Enemies have a huge ATB penalty at the start of battle, for some reason; they move more normally afterwards.
Too bad I have no idea how to crack the system and make it like the original/GBA version (were the actor with the highest agility stat always moves first, player or enemy). That would've been perfect.
In hindsight, I guess that's why the ambush and back attack rate feels so damn high, they had to give enemies at least some advantage.

You can change the player's and enemies' starting ATB depending on the type of encounter. The first value is the minimum and the second value is the maximum amount of ATB they can start with in percentage. The thing I'd love to actually fix is the ATB always favoring the player.

Because it's on a Discord that was already being used for a lot of FF game modding. The ones of spearheaded the push to mod the PRs happened to be on that, so that's where it ended up.
And using Steam forums for a 'modding community' would be pretty trash, all things considered.

While that's fine, I just can't stand how Discord works. It's a total mess. I tried looking through the mods there and I just gave up.
A thread specifically made for modding on Steam wouldn't be so bad. Just ignore the trolls.

- hide mouse cursor instead of having to tuck it into a corner on start and every time I bump the desk
- secret passages show again
- remove the reduced xp requirements

Skull what utility are you using to extract the resource files? I tried UAE and I can see all the resources files, but none of the data.

I just installed it for the Exp mod fix, and noticed the program extracted a ton of script files. Been messing around with it for a bit.

Secret Passages aren't really needed. You can just expand the map to see all the hidden treasure chest locations and know that there must be hidden passages somewhere on the map and it's usually pretty obvious.
