Ok so played the game for hours with no problem then had a months break from playing then loaded and continued the same game and it has crashed twice during match highlights on different matches? No changes to pc or alterations

I have cleared this problem (or one very similar) by loading the latest graphics driver and rebooting the machine a couple of times. The problem may also be related to the machine being on for extended periods or going into sleep mode; but as I say, the problem has cleared.

You can verify the file integrity in the game. But, outside a corrupt file. It's not going to be the game as there's been no updates.
As Jon says, look at driver updates. (not just GPU)
