well so far i know there aint a anti cheat in this game so what risk should there be? if there is a risk the dev should tell people that its not allowed or something.

I have helped many people complaining that the game<whatever game> is broken and blaming the devs when it was their mods having issues. Or improperly removing them ... or breaking saves .... or any other number of things that can happen if you choose to mod your game.

edit add- This game is getting frequent updates that can also break your mods and possibly game saves.

Keep in mind you are allowing a third party program to have access. I would assume most popular mods are vetted pretty quickly but not knowing what you are doing can get you in trouble just going to the wrong places to get the mods.

No harm in a friendly warning eh?

You are basically using a tool to get an advantage the developers didn't intend you to have. There might be no tool but in case you are playing online and it registers your account with modified character levels you might be lucky if you get away with just a warning.

So many players in other forums even complain that this and that sucks because of this and that. In the end they didn't realize they were complaining about a mod and blaming the devs for bad content and performance. Smh

Basically I view this mod as taking action that the devs should have from the beginning. It is a band-aid, but a necessary one in my opinion. This should have had a debug fix made available, then a refined but temporary feature fix, then finally the permanent fix. None of that has happened so far.

As much as I am a Fan of modding any game, and as much respect as I have for the modding scene it is always important to keep in mind that modders have a lot more freedom than game devs in general.
While a lot of them are knowledgable about the games they mod, and they often try to keep their mods compatible etc. they just don't have the same structures behind them, often don't have to keep themselfes back to support older systems or different hardware etc.
Additionally nowadays a lot of game devs come from the modding scene and have been modders themselves.
So while it is always good to have respect for the modders and thank them for their work etc in almost all cases it is not comparable to "actual" game development. It's always worth to keep that in mind.

While I agree with the general sentiment of being careful who you trust and what you download, this mod is a *.pak and as such _should_ be relatively safe in regards to malware (though for obvious reasons I can't give any guarantees)
*.pak mods are interpreted by the game engine and shouldn't have any access other than the game allows them, and usually shouldn't include any executable code that could harm your system or security.
Still the general warning is worthwhile. If in doubt don't use it. This is true for pretty much everything.

Since Icarus is no competitive MMO and there is no such thing as "ladders" or "high scores lists" either, nor any "pay to win" content, I am curious to read which "advantage" one gains when using this mod, over whom and what exactly?

All it does is adding talent points, and a increases of tech points at each level above 40.

So what, who cares... Use it if you like it, or don't use it if you think it's garbage.

Just don't lecture other players on what to do and what not.

wemod already has trainers for godmode movement speed ect. if people want to ruin their experience thats on them.

Some of us use mods and the like to enhance the game. Some of the paths that the developers have taken have nothing to do with balance or even good gameplay. So these mods allow us to overcome what we consider crappy game design.
