Need a way to undo motorway deletions

Hi

the UI is very good in general, but this one thing gives me a headache from time to times.

If you mistakingly delete a motorway and dont have spare ones on inventory, there is no way to undo the deletion. On heavily trafficked ways this is a fatal move, since the motorway cannot be placed again until the deleted motorway is gone. And it will not dissappear until every car has driven it back to home. This also means that no car will go to the destinations, which will probably cause a destination to fill and its game over.

So please either give a fill-in motorway on inventory to replace deleted motorways, or create another way to undo the motorway deletion.

Thanks

I don't personally use it because I prefer right click to delete, but there is an option to turn it off.

there is no way the game can be programmed to discern what an accidental & what an intended click is
the only way would be to ask you EVERY time a removal of a motorway is impending

is this what you are asking for ?
or what other solutions do you have in mind ?

Agree, this needs to be fixed. Have gone to delete a road tile only to delete a motorway attached to the tile more than once. Game over.

I use a laptop and sometimes the clicks are in correct and just recently late game was moving a round about that was right next to a motorway entrance and deleted the motorway. This NEEDS to be fixed I can't believe it's even a debate.

so far it doesn't count as a bug, so it won't be fixed

Is that not the point of the game to actually think ahead, then execute? Rather than just plomp, remove, and correct, items? It does not really seem to be a challenge then...

I may not been specific enough, but this is not a thinking issue, but a slip issue. It's very easy to wipe a perfectly functioning motorway whilst erasing normal roads. Just give a method to undo the error, like you can build back the normal roads back the way you have just deleted. Motorway shouldn't be an exception.

I agree this must be added to the game. 1 missed click and is over. Or sometimes the game just deleted the motorway instead the road on the same junction. Not fun to loose because of this. It's a problem of the game not the player.

Absolutely. Also just lost a game due to this. Don't even know why the motorway got deleted. I'd swear I didn't click on it, just the road next to it.

You don’t even need to be editing roads for this to happen. Because right-click means delete, it’s easy to accidentally delete something on my laptop's track-pad when it mistakenly (or otherwise) registers a second touch input, which it counts as a right-click.

There's already a precedent to allow the player to restore motorways that are mistakenly deleted. Unreleased road tiles already behave in this manner. You can also restore a bridge or tunnel that has been deleted but not yet released, without needing any spare tunnels or bridges to do so. So why is this possible for tunnels and bridges but not motorways? There's also a way around accidentally deleting a roundabout: by connecting the roads left broken with road segments (if available) you can get the roundabout back straight away. It's generally easy to find unused bits of road that can be used for this purpose temporarily, just until you get the roundabout back. It's only motorways that are unable to be restored immediately when accidentally deleted. It’s a huge annoyance that (as others say) can easily spell game over in the latter stages. It’s not a feature to penalise players for miss-clicks in this kind of game I would've thought.

I have to say that the devs are not at all amenable to suggestions for this game. They seem to have a very arrogant view of themselves as not being able to do anything wrong. Mistakes and flaws are “features” of the game it seems. Many people begged them to fix or change that annoying “You have run out of roads” message that obscures the map and stays up for far too long, yet that remains despite the seemingly large majority of people who want a fix. We even tell them several possible solutions, such as simply having the road count icon pop up (as it does anyway) with a simple visual cue added to indicate no remaining tiles. It’s basically meaningless to report bugs or make any suggestions or requests to this developer. They just don’t seem to listen or care. There was very little that could be improved with Mini Metro, so the attitude there wasn’t as apparent, but you could still make numerous suggestions about things like AI behaviour without a response.

You can’t knock that they continually add features and content at no cost however, so that is to be commended and is greatly appreciated. It's a fairly cheap game after all and I'm not knocking it's value one bit.

won't happen, many before you have asked for this but the devs see this apparently as a gameplay challenge
you have to work around
if you want to click away some roads, pause, move the motorway for the time being out of the way, remove roads, move motorway back
i am doing this now always, it's the only way

I understand that if you try to deliberately move the motorways, there shouldn't be momentary two motorways, unless you actually have the inventory. I'm talking about accidentally deleting a motorway (or anything else you don't have surplus on inventory). There's no way to undo it, and that's pretty much game over on lategame.

ok, maybe you just don't know

a motorway layed out on the map (not in inventory) can be move away by hand with the mouse
A) at both ends connecting to a road
B) the middle part with the number in the middle to make the underlying roads visible
