So my goal for this game has been to try and get a score of 4000 on every city. On some I have managed to beat that score by quite a margin, while on others I've only just scraped by.

However there are some cities which, no matter how often I try, I cannot seem to get the score on. I consistently get up to 2k, even 3, but jumping over that line into 4 seems almost impossible. On some of them I've even managed 3980+, but the game died before the last couple of journeys completed.

The cities which I simply cannot get the score on are:

Beijing
Dar Es Salaam
Munich
Wellington

Interestingly, with the exception of Wellington, all of them seem to be more open, empty maps. Whereas the maps which are more enclosed with mountains/water I have managed to get 4k on pretty easily.

Are there any maps which you have real trouble getting high scores on, ones which consistently prevent you from beating your goals? Which ones are they?

Update on this: Just in the past week I've finally managed to get 4000 on both Beijing and Dar Es Salaam. So now I have only Munich and Wellington to go before I am officially a member of the 4k club.

For the "lower" scores on Beijing/Salaam/Munich, I think it could have to do with spawn rates, as in, destinations take more time to spawn, thus decreasing how fast the score goes up. For me, it's most notable on Los Angeles - it feels like destinations take forever to spawn there.
Anyway, 4k sounds tough to me - I only got it on Tokyo (top 1%). Second best is 3.5k on Beijing (top 2%). Still need to try and break 3k on Los Angeles and some other maps. I fell short on Munich with 2.8k.
Definitely a matter of trying and trying until you get a good attempt.

regarding my goals
i have reached only on two maps 4T, but i am content with where i stand, since my patience with a puzzle game runs thin already after half an hour
for me personally is how Wellington is programmed hardest
maybe you didn't notice, since you write only about the topography of maps, but every map has a set of different RNG also
but usually my patience runs out before i start to ponder about tweaking strategies to improve my highscores

there are some YTrs with pretty impressive results, so if you want to improve your scores, maybe search those, but only if they posted within the current month, since the game underwent significant changes compared to already 3 months ago

You think it's that limited? I was kinda expecting everybody to have 7k+ and for my goal of 4k to be childsplay for many lol.

I hear you about the RNG though, that is very true. A lot of games I have, if the spawning gets too random then I just quit then and there and restart. No point in continuing if there's a 90% chance you're gonna lose anyway, may as well only push ahead with promising runs.

just look at the percentage you're in, with the latest update you can see where you stand & if you're asking about 4T results, so that's the uppest 5% or so
