Rewards and Incentives
Look, the plain and simple fact is that no one wants to PvP for the sake of PvPing. Why??? Because ... and the logic here is impeccable ... because there's nothing in it. You PvP, you kill someone and ... the logic here is also absolutely impeccable ... they respawn. After all your effort, after all your skill, they just respawn. They respawn as if nothing happened. Which means ... again, impeccable logic ... that there's really NOTHING in PvP.
So, again, following the beautiful logic as set down above, there has to be something in PvP in order for PvP to be worth something. Developers won't give us PERMA-DEATH, developers won't make them lose all their progress, developers won't make them drop all their stuff, or half of their stuff, or their best stuff, or even some of their stuff, developers won't allow us to camp their corpses, and worst of all developers won't allow us to have the tried and true FREEDOM to kill anybody, anywhere, anytime regardless of level as forth in the U.S. Constitution.
Therefore, we must have something in order to make PvP worth it. Some type of Reward. Some type of Incentive. Some type of Reward and Incentive.
Look at all those PvE players gathering flowers with absolutely no risk whatsoever. And look at the PvP'ers, facing the terrible, horrible RISK of having to respawn if we get killed in PvP. And, when you manage to kill someone else in PvP all that happens to them is they Respawn. This situation isn't fair. It's intolerable. It's injustice. And injustice everywhere is injustice ... er ... everywhere.
We need Rewards and Incentives for PvP. Give us more. Give us More. GIVE US MORE.

Difference between open world PvP and wars, and the sweaties want more Open World PvP, which is why the devs have to bribe PvE with luck bonuses.

This could have had massive, massive PVP guild battles with like an area having control of a castle or something with siege weapons, knocking down gates, archers shooting down, etc. Massive area of lands owned by your faction. But they went with a 50 vs 50 and you need to sign up. Get lucky and enjoy the content. If not you're stuck in roaming the map, for a 1 on 1 or more times the not a 1 vs 7 and you die. This game could have been insane. In my eyes they complete dropped the ball. I wouldn't even mind a area you queue up in for PVP siege battles. Faction vs Faction. Just nonstop 24/7 battles. The ideas could be endless.

So you want what armor and weapons? Ok then but only if they are UNUSABLE for any PVE instances. The game has enough balancing issues with classes to add another layer of complexity for people to argue over. I think they should just give all PVP the same cookie builds and gear doesn't matter at all. Make it fully skill based and watch the salt come rolling in.

Do you like dungeons? Remove all the loot, do you still like them?
Why force PvP players to do PvE to progress? It doesn’t make much sense. I don’t want extra loot, i just want an alternative way to progress. PvE players hate the idea of forced PvP but are totally ok with forcing PvE on PvP players, why?
Try and look at things from other peoples perspective instead of being so wrapped up in your own wants.
This is why the game has an identity issue.

The bottom line is that like it or not, the devs expect us to do both in order progress.

fauxpas replied to Rewards and Incentives January 30, 2022 @ 6:16:55 am PSTBecause I'll tell you the way I see the current situation; as a primarily PvE Player that "dabbles" in PvP from time to time the devs have forced me to deal with the PvP scene whether I wanted to or not.
If I want to be even remotely competitive with gear, I have to flag for the luck bonus and paint a target on my back, in the wild if I run across another flagged PvEr we'll usually leave each other alone with a wave emote or the universal "We're cool." signs of spamming crouch or belly flopping. If on the other hand I run across a PvPer, I'm probably getting ganked in my harvesting gear. ... And the true feelings of the PvP crowd is made clear whenever someone cries about the ganking in chat as they are dogpiled on.
If I want to be able to afford to craft then I'd better own a territory, preferably WW or EF. Wait, that's not only a PvP reward, but its also been set up where the companies that own those two towns make millions in taxes and as such have geared up thier allies to the point where it's nigh impossible to compete ever take it from them as the rich get richer and the poor are content with thier lot.
Hmm, at least PvPers should be spread between all three factions so they can war between themselves and the servers should have some sort of balance between the three colors, right? ... Nope, since the various PvPers can simply faction swap to the winning team (ok, the team in second place) and turn the map the same color. ... A behavior that I've never understood since it seems to me that a single color map would be boring since wars would largely die down and deprive the PvP crowd if the activity they claim to want.
...
So yeah, welcome to a PvEr's life where we can't ignore the aspects of the game we aren't that interested or skilled in.

fauxpas replied to Rewards and Incentives January 30, 2022 @ 6:48:36 am PSTAnd yes, I think you'll find that most PvErs are at least somewhat bitter by the situation and not likely to be sympathic because the devs have decided that they want thuer players to be forced to interact with both systems, whether they want to or not.
Oh, that plus the "balancing" always seems to be aimed at PvP, which annoys PvErs since what is balanced for one doesn't usually work for the other. ... One of my guild mates has it right I think, wait awhile and the hardcore PvP crowd will move on to another game.

ROFL you have to be joking right? They cant even make 50v50 run good, let alone even larger battles.
