There really is no reason to engage in ORP anymore. The amount of exploiting going on is insane and its all done by the same people from the same companies hourly.
I am so sick of getting 3x Maelstrom attacks in a row from the same players, back to back leaping strikes. Healers who dodge every single attack and take little damage while pumping out heals so strong 7 players can not kill their target.

I thought battlefield V was bad for cheating, its a sad day when I feel the need to go to battlefield V for an honest round of PVP.

Contrary to the other incidents mentioned on this post, this one may not actually be cheating, but merely finding and abusing normal combat methods. I usually see this from one particular player who stands on a particular rock. I presume that if one stands on that same rock in the same spot, one only needs to discover the correct angle and orientation to throw. Conveniently, New World has a compass, meaning the orientation is relatively simple. Furthermore, finding the correct angle, once all the rest is set, merely requires throwing hatchets until blue siege damage notifications are seen. Like bows and muskets, hatchets have a very long range, but unlike those two, hitting a moving target at long range with a hatchet requires luck. A fixed target like the respawn point takes practice.

In my personal experience, not having a shield, I tried blocking the hatchets with my character. This however yields normal damage notifications, which means the thrower detected the interference and altered their throwing position and angle to make the hatchets go over the character's head, suggesting they encountered that situation before. Then I went up the wall to jump into the hatchets, which worked, but my timing was not sufficient to block every hatchet, granting them ultimate success.

Nonetheless, I don't think that requires exploits or cheating to execute, merely a hatchet and patience. It is quite an effective technique, an excellent precursor to attacking the base directly if few people are present.

Personally, I never considered cheating methods other than aimbots to be present in OPR, but I'll be keeping an eye open going forward.

Just report the supposed behaviour & hopefully they will get banned.
From own experience some don't or to slow (there are few on every server ruining other players experience) & AG really enjoy take their time banning bots, cheats & exploits.

Sadly some of the people who do this hourly have been reported over a period of months. They were using the back bar weapon exploit 3+ months ago, and seem to be doing the same now. They also use the same abilities back to back. I called one out today and the guy that was next to me said in ORP chat "confirmed, I saw it myself".

Sadly, it seems that few people realize how much cheating is going on. They think that getting 1 shot by 11k damage with 5x resilience is normal, and yet its not.

It's to the point now that there is simply no reason to engage in PVP. Its exploiter vs exploiter combat and I refuse to cheat.

Tbh, sadly very few care anymore including devs, even with the seasonal releases & new dungeon + story, peeps done it in 1-2 weeks then move on to other games. D4 is near so who care anymore tbh, if AG do not respect them investors & customers there are other companies that do it. And remember that we talk about a huge mother company here, AMAZON, they have 1 GAME released after bunch of failures & they can't even care enough to give to them prime members proper rewards, just throw there some trash every month for almost a year soon. But yeah, it is what it is, greed & ignorance is big.

It's a shame. The game has amazing potential, but its gonna need a rewrite of code, a new game engine (they need to dump theirs, go for Unreal), devs that actually have experience either designing MMORPG's or have a long history playing them.
The developers seem like ultra cool people, nice, honest etc....but they simply do not have the experience to know how to pull this project together.

Those are kinda the same since months, least drop there some gypsums like 50 or something usefull, there are other companies devs that give tons more & even give them games for free.

Devs are fine as character, but they need proper help (new skilled peoples), also sadly i have to compare them again with other low budget companies, which changed them games engine multiple times on them games to keep up with the last technology - talking about UE5 engine here.
Best they can do is to sell NW game to another company & they should resume themself on publishing asian p2w/gacha/gamba games to "west" world.
