Being a commander is pretty lack luster
So i've done a few runs while beating the game & noticed two things. Being max out on everything while still having 2-3 acts to go is no fun & that i've never felt like a commander.
Sure you give a speech here & there,You "join" 3-5 battles but mainly you are a pencil pusher that adventures with a small group.
So i would like to see the commander role more fleshed out,Keep in mind this would most likely be a paid dlc over a free update. I'm not concerned about "making the game easier" i play on unfair difficulty because i enjoy it & this is more so to just flesh out being a commander.
Either by
1.Introducing a new "commander" system like the mythic path system,The difference between the two would be more focused on "summoning" troops,Upgrading them & buffs for your team. The troops you could call to arms could either be from the the commander system skill pool or from scripted events so basic grunts until you take over drezen where you officially pick your mythic path.
2.They could add in more events where you are actually leading & decide what your troops do,Add in a new companion preferably of a monstrous during one of the earlier sieges. I would prefer a minotaur due to how amazing they look or bulky wyvarans,
Why would they server? same reason anyone else serves,it wanting to live/it wants to fight/slave collars until you deem it's safe to take it off. I would feel like minotaur would be easier to do since they are already in the game but i default to both
The rewards for attacking outposts under enemy control?Gold, gear,Some npcs that affect battles story based & other outpost battles,Merchants & >unique< non basic humanoid companion/companions. Could do 2, 1 for good players(bulky wyvarans) & one for evil players(Minotaur). They already have that with lann & wendy but difference being these two will still help out in out post battles, story battles & then eventually you can get both of them in your party. let's say in act 3 or you can force them to work together from the start but get a debuff until an act or two later.
But yeah those are my thoughts for fleshing out the role of being a commander for this game.
How would you guys go about fleshing out the role of being a commander?

You were literally maxed out in power soon as you finished drezen.
