Starting up tomorrow and planning out my character. I want it to be similar to my Elder Scrolls character who happens to be a werewolf sporting heavy armor, a giant two-handed sword, and lots of lightning powers. What's the closest approximation to that available in WotR?

Tho you still can't cast in heavy armour, not that you need it anyway. The best armour in the game is... a spell (with arch. armour mythic).

Bloodrager might qualify for your character theme too, and the steelblood can cast in heavy armor. It's much lighter on the casting though than a magus (which only starts with light armor proficiency unless you take armored battlemage archetype).

You also can't actually become a werewolf in this game but a Kitsune would be a close approximation.

Magus get the ability to cast in medium and heavy armor around level 7 and 13 respectively (they can in light armor from the start). So if he wants to play armored for role play reason he could still do it. That way he could dump Dexterity a bit.

Magus would be a good choice but you don`t get the top level spells. If you want full caster progression you need Sorcerer + Eldrich knight prestige class.

You could chose the race Kitsune so you could be a kind of were-fox instead of werewolf. I think they have a special sorcerer subtype for that race.

The kitsune racial archtype for sorc is focused more on enchantment and illusion instead of evocation.

All demons are immune to electricity so you’re going to have a hard time until you get your first mythic rank. There are a lot of human enemies at the start of the game so you can use your electricity on this and then have your companions or just regular attacks for demons until you can take ascended element electricity that makes your lightning spells bypass energy resistance and immunity.
