Any tips for tripwires?
Tripwire slows down the pace of the game so much it's becoming annoying.
I have to wait for my friend to scan thoroughly at every single door then peek through the door to be extra sure. Can't even safely breach and clear without C2 now.
As I don't care so much about stealthing at this point but I don't really want to C2 every door either. Is there a safe way to trigger tripwires? Like, battering rams or breaching shotguns? I think kicking in the door will still get you killed by the tripmine.

Gorgeous Freeman replied to Any tips for tripwires? January 25, 2022 @ 5:38:20 am PSTThe only way to "safely" trigger a tripwire is with C2 and making sure you're sufficiently far away, I haven't tried breaching shotgun but as it doesn't open the door fully you might need to hit it again which would just trigger it anyway.
Even if it doesn't cause harm to anyone, you'll still be penalised for triggering the trap so it isn't worth it imo.

soulicro replied to Any tips for tripwires? January 25, 2022 @ 8:02:25 am PSTIf you're already peeking anyway, look for traps then - don't have your friend search for them with the mirror gun. As for a safe way to trigger them, like Freeman said - C2 from a distance.

or get up close and diffuse using the multitool..

Fang replied to Any tips for tripwires? January 25, 2022 @ 8:12:28 am PSTTo go into more detail: if you peek a door with a trap on the other side, you can crouch and cut the wire using your multitool. So make it a habit to peek every single door you open unless you've got other plans like breaching quickly.

you don't have to crouch, but it's up to the player. ggs

Financially Independently replied to Any tips for tripwires? January 25, 2022 @ 8:21:27 am PSTIt's quite intense when my friend's defusing the tripwire through the door gap.
I have to nervously aim at the door gap all that time, hoping no one wanders past us lol

I mean, OP specifically said he doesn't want to "waste time".

=TAC= Stuermer replied to Any tips for tripwires? January 25, 2022 @ 9:12:26 am PSTIt's not like you have to waste time at every door, there's only 2-3 tripwires in the maps.
So the SOP for us atm is:
- #2 peeks the door (crosscover), no mirrorgun (comms: description room)
- if #2 sees enemy at side of handle --> opens fire, if not ...
- ... #1 is peeking for traps (1-2 sec.), if there's trap --> disarm, if not ...
- ... #1 is opening the door, comms: description room
- #1 + #2 move into the room, followed by #3 + #4 (and #5 covering rear)
This is - in most cases - kinda fast (not as fast as just breaching and jumping through every door, but then this isn't that kind of game either).
Learning effective team-movement will enable you to move through the levels fast and smooth for a nice pace feeling. Try without mirroring, just has to be clear what #1-5 has to do in case of contact (lethal-nonlethal buddyteams are quite effective, too, if you train and communicate what to do when).
This game can be played both ways: Fast and more or less solo or in real teamplay - in my eyes this feels really nice after some time, not sure if you can get randoms to play like that though, needs at least players who are willing to talk about tactics before the round starts.

Calabacina replied to Any tips for tripwires? January 25, 2022 @ 9:22:53 am PSTit is not a real tip but something they told me in game that I had never thought of,
traps are ALWAYS on the inside of a door, if you are on the inside of the room and you do not see it should be safe.

RMA_Shadows replied to Any tips for tripwires? January 25, 2022 @ 9:28:12 am PSTYou could open doors with breaching shotgun from far away and don't receive any trap damage at all. But anyway, it feels unrealistic and i hope devs will fix it one day.

Financially Independently replied to Any tips for tripwires? January 25, 2022 @ 11:03:38 am PSTWell, there are going to be only me and my bro. We don't want randoms to ruin our raids.
So I have to aim at the door gap and look at other sides at the same time while my bro being completely defenseless.
By the way, how is rushing through rooms feasible with tripwires around?
Kicking in the wrong door means insta death.
That's quite a useful observation! it is not a real tip but something they told me in game that I had never thought of,
traps are ALWAYS on the inside of a door, if you are on the inside of the room and you do not see it should be safe.
So breaching shotgun does trigger traps then? I guess same goes for battering ram? You could open doors with breaching shotgun from far away and don't receive any trap damage at all. But anyway, it feels unrealistic and i hope devs will fix it one day.

Oak replied to Any tips for tripwires? January 25, 2022 @ 11:10:25 am PSTTry door (peek at knob)
Situation 1: OPEN
Check for traps
A. if not trapped > open/kick/bang
B. if trapped > disarm trap > open/kick/bang
Situation 2: LOCKED
Use optiwand
A. if not trapped > use battering ram/C2
B. if trapped > pick lock > disarm < open/kick/bang
People still haven't figured out how to deal with doors in a dynamic matter. Everyone just uses the wand on every door and spends a whole 5 minutes describing everything to the color of the wallpaper before entering a room... Makes the game a borefest.
