as above, i can at best get to lev 33, after that thees missiles are to problematic for the time they come in at least, pluss problem with mana boxes, but that i can handle, but hey overall fun to try to beat , but i dont know how ^^

If I get the missiles spawn, I lose. I just can't do enough damage to stop them. Even if I'm holding everything back at a single choke point easily, and all of my other towers (Despite being upgraded all game) feel obselete until later on, they push through everything with no issues.

so i am not alone in this then, i barely won lev 32, but 33 wrecks me , were it is also a combo of missiles and other bigger armour once, spamming flamethrowers is not ideal, and deff not if one lacks the mana , sooo i have noe clue how to overcome this without super god seed.

Unfortunately, that's why you are probably losing to them in most cases beyond just bad RNG. They are designed to pretty much overwhelm chokepoints and your main towers.

Other than AOE towers, there are no towers that can hit everything, so your targeting amount is very limited. There is no Attack Speed buffs really that allow you to shoot more. You can't build infinite towers either and the ones that do use AOE require mana.

You'll never overwhelm stuff that spawns other things like tankbots, death walkers, the decahedrons, etc because of these limitations.

The only way to beat these is to kill them as soon as they spawn so you have to build offensively in the later rounds. That's why it's generally good advise to build out 1 single lane as long as you can and hoping that lane splits every 3-4 tiles. It will mean you can defense your shorter lanes with less... and that you can invest in more towers towards the end AND you'll know exactly where the "spawn portals" are to build near.

They also nerfed freeze, which was the only other way to survive.

-Enemies who are frozen must now unfreeze before they can be frozen again.
-Enemies who are frozen gain a slight reduction to the time they spend frozen if frozen again (decaying by 20% each consecutive freeze).

So you can't even hope to have freeze save you and in fact... if everything gets frozen too early... your back towers can't even effectively freeze them well so now have to conceptually remember that freezing towards the front can be harmful to freezing in the back (which sucks if all your towers freeze like the Ballistas freeze upgrade)

A cheap trick is just to spam mortars. They don't require mana and are innately anti armour.
A couple of Frostholds spread out trivialises them since it's AoE slow that can add burning.

You can just spam ballistas too with mixed targeting (my first ballista only win was against rocket spam).
Those two largely remove the RNG element.

You can safely focus armour and health at your Universities no matter what the enemy is, so late game your ballistas should be 1-2 tapping them anyway (I did manage ballistas and frostholds only without Unis against rocket spam, so it's not required if you are going mixed turrets)



A big thing is controlling your card pick deck. Either Reset your xp and level up to pick out the exact cards you actually need. Or pick up the Reset mod that doesn't reset your xp, just the cards.
If you just unlock everything, every run is gonna be a rough time, the deck is wwwwaaaayyyy too big. This game really needs a deck picker.

than why not try vamp towers they seem like the hard counter to beholder spam so they can prob also work against tank spam

I just managed to beat a ballista-only game with missile spamming, but unfortunately it was on single lane. so i'm not sure if this strategy will work on double, triple or quad lanes.

set up most armor + slowest on +3 ranged ballistas and get mana shot 3 before round 25.
Round 32 will still be tough but if you have a long path and a respectable kill zone, you should be good.
if you have mana shot 3, then your ballistas should be able to one shot or two shot missiles.
try to get slow cooker and ignite going once you're past round 25. it'll be important so you can get rid of armor as fast as you can.
Drones might cause you trouble, so i think in double or triple paths, you'll need to set up some ballstas on most armor + fastest to get rid of them asap. that way missiles won't spawn too close to your base. i think that's why round 32 is so hard, that's when the drones start showing up, not sure on that point though.

if you can get rid of the missile spawning enemies as soon as possible, then you won't need to worry about missile spamming as much.

Saw blades are a great zero mana tower that hurt multiple enemies at a time, leave them set to Progress and they will chase down the lead monster then turn back and get the others. Mortars set to Most Armor can help as well. The best way to take off armor or shields is with a monument tower set to either Most Armor or Most Shield, they're ridiculously expensive on mana though, so only helpful if you aren't using any other mana-using towers. The towers that snipe enemies but use 10 mana a shot are also good for taking out fast towers that pull ahead of others. I have no problems getting past 33 with the saw blades alone, 49 is where I'm stuck right now.

It's super important to get at least two kill boxes setup on each of your paths. The furthest one away should be focusing on stripping armor and killing low health tanks/units. By leaving the tanks alone for half their run, they fire missiles which simply overwhelm the second kill box.

Adjusting your tower fire for each wave can also help - make sure you are prioritizing the right targets.

Lastly, I found that the Vamp Lairs are simply MONSTERS when it comes to knocking down waves of missiles. They hit everything.

On my last game, I had put up four Ballistas and then dropped a Vamp Lair. I was astounded at how fast it knocked out the next four or five waves. On a larger scale, they are close to mandatory for getting rid of the riff-raff that wastes the time of the heavier hitters.

My advice: get Flame towers, mortars and lookouts. You want to find a line with mountains ending in a right angle. Hopefully you also have a line of height 3's on either side. Fill the mountains with flamethrowers backed by height 3 mortars. save at least one spot for HP and Armor Lookout towers. Have at least 3 sections, and add Armor/HP Flame Frost keeps.

Have if possible a citadel in front, with Shredders in the front, with a Tesla in between the two shredders. Have a Poison Sprayer for CC, A HP/Armor Frost keep in the center, and a Flamethrower in the last middle slot. Have Mortars on both sides with a Obelisk in the middle back.
