No achivement in moddable version?

Why? Are people playing with Russian voiceover unworthy of receiving achievements??

Post Scriptum.

That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. Anyone can hack achievements with Steam Achievements Manager (not only getting achievements, but also vanishing it), so unlocking achievements in mods doesn't open any new possibilities in achivements cheating. Blocking achievements for all mods just because there's a possibility to make some achievements easier is really dumb. Most mods are model replacements or other not-game-changing stuff. SS3 is NOT blocking achievements and as you can see, nothing bad happens.
Many games aren't blocking achievements with mods or have "unlock achievements" mod (which returns achievements to the modified game and does not open them all) and nothing bad happened with those game's achievements.

There are absolutely no good things in locking achievements for modded game – unlocking it won't make rare achievements less rare. The very idea that everyone will immediately hack the achievements as soon as they have the opportunity is stupid. Everyone already has the opportunity to do this, but, as you can see, no one does it.

they can't just give out achievements with 1 innocent mod. that's the dumbest thing i have ever heard. you know that if achievements were allowed with mods people would make mods to get any achievements easily right? they are achievements for a reason. if moddables could get achievements, every person who owns Serious Sam 4 will have all achievements. It also takes a lot out of the satisfaction, not having a single achievement that a lot of people won't get.

these achievements are a clear example of that. getting these achievements is satisfying for some people because not a lot of people have them.

plus it's not possible to make a system that automatically detects if the current mod that you have installed will mess with achievements or not. so because of that they just provided the best solution possible. disable achievements if ANY mod is installed.

Localization-related mods should already be able to be run in non-moddable, at least as of Serious Sam 3.

This should be case for all mods, which are NOT gameplay related. There are plenty of good mods for Fusion but still only for moddable version.

did you know that Steam Achievements Manager is also risky to use? it can wipe your achievements just as easily.

why do you think people aren't using it? plus most people don't even know about it. no usage means no popularity and i wonder why people aren't using it.

There's a script function that immediately unlocks any given achievement in the game. You could expect that if moddable was permitted to affect achievements, a mod that just unlocks all achievements would be released, easily accessible from the workshop with the click of a button. No need to jump through hoops with a sketchy program.

You're able to do too much with most existing "visual" filetypes. For example, meshes include collision data, and animations allow manipulating a character's movements (even to extreme degrees) via the model mover. Only things that would arguably be safe would be sound and texture replacements... But honestly that would be even more of a pain, having a pack that does a bunch of replacements, but only some of it loading in on non-moddable.

What I meant was about audio replacements. The shotgun in the Fusion port of SS3 for example sounds weak compared to the original.

That can be done without any mods. As I said, there's many games that aren't disabling achivements in modded version, and there's nothing wrong happened with their achivements

Although not every mod is a "cheat", many are. The moddable version opens a can of worms in which people would simply make mods that would allow them to get achievements instantly.
