And I didn't have a way to get another quickly. It disappeared and I guess it died and obviously couldn't reproduce so I said to myself I'll get 2 more from the trader but when I went to trade for more it is literally not listed. Matter of fact I got geese who came in I think I found them or maybe I traded for them. However now that they've been added to the settlement I can't get more. Luckily they just reproduced so I should soon have a stable population of them.

But my Alpaca just disappeared and I literally can't get more. So what do I do now?

When your Hunters find a cub you need to put them into a pasture or corral and then they will reproduce, if you dont do that in a certain timefraime the cub will disapear, and you are always starting with one animal and they just clone themself or something like that.

It was in a pasture. I put it in as soon as we got it I just happened to be checking the the main screen when I got the notification.

I've noticed sometimes the message is delayed, cause I looked for it right away and it was already gone.

What notification?

When you put it into a pasture there is nothing that could get your cub to die, there are no sickness or hunger for the animals in this game so it should not just disapear, so it is eather a bug or a new feature that never happend to me.

One other thing could be that you unintentionally slaugthered it by moving hte max animal in pasture to zero

Max animal was set to 34 which the game dafaulted to. It sat at 1 for a while, fell to zero, then I lost the animal and cub discovery.

That is not supposed to happen make a bug report

It sounds like it may have died of old age.
