I haven't watched it yet, so I can only talk based on what I've seen on the trailer.

Basically, there isn't any action in the real story, only a lot of tension when the russians are in scene, but even then it's still a very interesting story, so pretty much all the non-action parts of the movie might be real, except for maybe just a bit of changes to embellished them and make some parts shorter.

You should really watch the documentary on the story of Tetris by Gaming Historian if you're interested in the story, it's very good:

There's also Tetris - From Russia with Love, a documentary by the BBC, which includes interviews with the real people involved and even scenes recorded by Henk.

Also, check out The Ecstasy of Order. That Ninja kid wishes he was half the gamer Thor Aackerlund is. Or had half as cool a name.

Though Thor's Camerica deal was a questionable career choice. He should have started wearing flashy ties and selling hot sauce.
