Camera doesn't turn??
I play with a mouse and keyboard. I installed the game today, and when I tried to play, just after talking to Karen, right at the beginning, it tells me to move around using W, A, S, D. But the camera doesn't turn. I assumed this would be linked to the mouse, but despite the fact that my mouse is working, the camera isn't turning.
If anyone knows what's going on, I'd appreciate the help. I have all my drivers updated, changed the resolutions around, but it didn't make a difference.
I also tried using the Steam controller, but then the game didn't even let me modify the keybinds.
I'm at a loss. I can't play. Any help would be welcome.
EDIT: It still doesn't work on my laptop, but I've got it running on my brother's laptop... so it's an issue with my pc. If anyone might know what's causing this, I'd be grateful!

ModernStoryteller replied to Camera doesn't turn?? October 18, 2021 @ 5:49:10 pm PSTHi there. Sorry to hear about this, and thanks for letting us know. This is a weird bug. If you've already tried validating the installation and it didn't help, then I suspect it's an issue with your local config files. So:
1. go to this folder: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\ModernStoryteller01\Saved\
2. rename the config folder to something else like "ConfigOLD" (doing this will allow you to reinstate those files if you need to)
3. run the game and see if it works.
If that doesn't help, you could try reinstalling.

microrrufos replied to Camera doesn't turn?? October 19, 2021 @ 9:33:32 am PSTI do not seem to have a config folder inside this location, at all. All there is inside of it is a SaveGames folder Eliminating some files and forcing Steam to verify the instalation doesn't seem to solve it, either. I've tried uninstalling, eliminating any folder related to the forgotten city, and then reinstalling as well, but the same thing keeps happening.
It's all very odd. It stops me from enjoying the game normally, simply because I need to run it on a different computer...

This is indeed strange. My first thought is that there may be a conflict caused by another input device. So, if you happen to have a controller connected (even though you've said you're trying to use mouse and keyboard), it may be over-riding your mouse, so you could try unplugging/disconnecting it (or you could just use it to play the game). If that doesn't help, try unplugging any other input devices.
Or you could try physically disconnecting and reconnecting your mouse, or trying an alternative mouse if you have one.
You could also check that your mouse's custom drivers are up to date, if any.
Sometimes strange things happen when people are running unnecessary software programs in their system tray (eg. Nahimic, etc). So you could try going into your system tray and exiting any programs you don't need.
When you say "I've tried uninstalling, eliminating any folder related to the forgotten city, and then reinstalling as well, but the same thing keeps happening." did you try deleting/renaming the files under here: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\ModernStoryteller01\ ? If not, I'd try that.
