Properties of Gold (Trying To Avoid Spoilers)

This is an awesome game, and I'm waiting to give a positive review until I've played through the whole thing. But a couple things stuck out to me after I traded the thing for the thing it looked like at that place.

1) Gold is not the sturdiest of elements. If a given mixture of materials isn't enough to support a given weight, my first thought wouldn't be "But what if we'd used gold instead?"

2) Gold is, if memory serves correctly, heavier than water.

Don't get me wrong, I love the thing and how I got to use it, and how it works with the worldbuilding. But it's just... a little weird.

In the Palace, Naevia explains it's not gold, but rather a rigid golden alloy, which is much harder.

Thanks. I missed that.

1) The bow turns organic matter rigid when transforming into gold, meaning the vines and leaves would not give way as you climb or walk on them. Spoiler if you haven't been inside the palace: In the palace you turn curtains into gold to stop the peeled statues coming through.
2) It's not weight but density that counts for floating. Gold leaves will float.
