Oops, I pulled out my Wooden Bow near the starts of the Catacombs, which I was exploring before I had gotten the Golden Bow.

Then I guess I must have walked below Desius underground, because the camera zoomed up above ground, and started the "fancy bow ya got there" conversation that triggers when you walk near him. The surrounding environment was all unloaded and gray, and Desius was looking down toward the camera, which was pointed upward at him.

The first time I encountered this, I accepted the quest, and it brought me above ground after the conversation, with the environment still unloaded. (I panicked and reset quickly because it was freaking me out too much lol 😅) The second time, I rejected the quest, and it kept me below ground, and I was able to proceed with my Wooden Bow. (Not that it was much use, though!)

This bug still happens to me, blocking my progress. No matter the outcome of the conversation with Desius, I end up out of bounds.

Has this been addressed in a past patch and I am an outlier?

Hi there! Yes it can still happen in some circumstances. The workaround is to head back up out of the catacombs and initiate that conversation with him in the forum, then head back down again.

This is still happening. In fact, it happened to me just as the first statue was coming to life, which then proceeded to kill me
