The game runs great on my native PC. I can set it at the max settings and have no issues. However, when attempting to stream the game (with a direct ethernet cord connection, no wifi involved) to another TV utilizing the Steam Link box (now discontinued) or the Apple TV Steam Link app, the game becomes incredibly laggy. Any time I turn around, enter a room, or just walk two feet, the game freezes for a few seconds. This makes it essentially unplayable. I want to share this game with my family in our living space, but this is only possible if I haul my desktop out and set it up next to our TV.

While this does not seem like something that can be quickly fixed, it would be appreciated if it could be looked into.

That's how my game is always... I just bought the game and tried playing it today and i can't walk a few steps without the game freezing for a good 10 or more seconds before regaining control. When the game first started the loading time was abysmal, and when it finally got me in to the game, Karen didn't have textures at all, she was just a blob of color. After waiting another 5-10 minutes textures slowly started to pop in, but I still couldn't advance the text. Eventually she said the voice line and it progressed to the next text line, but then i would wait another 30s to a minute before she said the next line. The whole conversation was like that, where it took up to a minute to load her next voice line. Eventually I trudged through it, got to the autosave, started walking and realized that freezing was constant, so I started trying to tweak it.

I disabled full screen optimizations, ran as administrator, tried setting the game at higher priority... nothing worked. Higher priority did seem to help Karen's voice lines load a little faster, but didn't help the freezing.

My last ditch attempt is going to try transferring the game to my c drive which is a solid state. I only put the games I play the most often on there since its limited space, but this game seems like it may benefit from the faster load times.

Update: It's working on the solid state drive pretty well. I don't know what that was about. I think my external hard drive may be dying or something. I have been having computer problems in general and am wondering if its related to that.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I understand the realities of this niche issue, glad to know it was at least brought to your awareness. Enjoying the Noclip documentary btw. Have a Merry Australian Christmas
