patience, it will find rare but not all the time

you have to put the miner in the area of the ore you want like if you want iridium you have to put the t2 miner inside the cave

There is sulphur, Osmium, Aluminium and Iridium that I have found. I am unaware where to find any uranium but it might exist. Once you get higher power systems you can recycle those and get your uranium back again so it's not so critical. I would be interested to know if there is uranium somewhere though.

An easier way to get super alloy would be nice. It's not hard once you are set up but you need so much of it that some form of automation would be great. I tried setting one up where the alloy spawns in the world but all the upper ledges and plateau up there are invalid areas to build. Never tried the ground below though.

T2 mining for uranium is in the tiny cave that you can find when going through the crack/alley from the slanted stones area (next to aluminium area). Super alloy can be mined in the cave that has a broken/slanted pillar at the front, its in the wall off the big desert area next to first iridium cave and the large scale crashed wreck. I recommend you put 3 t2 miners in each location (but start with the iridium ones first), I also recommend putting a shredder at each location to trash the unwanted ores.

T1 can also mine sulfer and aluminum if placed in the correct biomes btw.

The good news is that you only need T2 miner for 3 ores: uranium, superalloy and osmium. All other ores can be mined with a T1 miner set in the appropriate region.

Things indeed take long time to unlock, because each next series of goals is order(s) of magnitude bigger. You'll need more advanced machines (like T4 drills!), and multipliers from rockets to get there.
On the other hand, this leaves you with time to explore, and time to build advanced machines to house all the plants you find while exploring.

You can mine: Osmium, Aluminium, Uranium, Iridium, Sulphur, Super Alloy.
I put a habitat with an Advanced Crafting Station T2 and a couple of lockers next to each one, with a beacon (colored to match the ore type) so that I know where they are and can turn ores in to rods/super alloy etc...

You just have to find the right locations for them all.
