I am able to use my controller (8bitdo Pro2) in other steam games, as well as within the steam bigpicture menus (even while this game is running) but NOTHING WORKS in game. I can't move the mouse cursor and none of the input buttons work. What am i doing wrong?

I have tried all of the controller templates, made sure my basic steam controller settings were configured properly, and I have complete control EXCEPT within Unpacking. It seems like this game requires a mouse, but the store page says the game supports controllers.

I am running this on an m1 macbook pro.

Thank you very much for the reply. I did try to Enable Steam Input as you suggested, and i restarted everything to be sure it took affect, but unfortunately it still doesn't work. I have also tried all of the controller configuration templates...gamepad, mouse and keyboard, and everything in-between. if you can think of anything else, please let me know. Thanks again

ok, quick clarifying question: Will the controller work to move the mouse cursor?

i know it's a dumb question, but thats the only difference between other games (that play just fine with my controller) and this one. Other games are first person and i just move around no problem. But with this game nothing works at all. nothing.

I have even placed the mouse cursor over menu buttons using a mouse and then pressing every button on the controller and nothing happens. The controller input completely turns off as soon as the game launches from big picture mode. Almost feels like its launching in desktop mode or in a browser outside of steam or something. so frustrating :(

The controller normally moves the cursor in the game, yes.

Unpacking has full gamepad support but it's possible your 8bitdo Pro2 isn't being detected correctly.

If you right click Unpacking and go to Properties > Controller, and change the dropdown from use default settings to Enable Steam Input does that help at all?
