[SPOILER] The "conclusion" of the game
Bought the game on a different platform but I am curious about other players' opinion about this. So I am writing here.
Isn't it kind of sad that the game ends with the protagonist becoming a parent? Maybe it's just my opinion as an older woman. But I couldn't help feeling melancholic about it.
The game builds a connection to this person and she really grows on you. Good job by the developers!
But as soon as the baby arrives she seemingly has reached her purpose and her story stops.
I hope perhaps there will be additional story one day, where we see the life of the young family. And the protagonist growing career-wise. And hopefully even a nice house for retirement at the end? That would be quite wonderful indeed.

As a woman myself I also hate this societal view that settling down and having a baby is where a woman's life stops being interesting. That was certainly not our intention with this story. We thought a lot about how to end the story and decided to go with the house because it tied a lot of story threads up nicely: the relationship is in a good place, the character's health has stabilised, her career has taken off with her first book being published and a second on the way, and the couple have bought their "forever home". But we also liked that this story ends with a new child on the way because it's a full circle -- you can imagine that the next time the family moves the kid will be unpacking their belongings in their own bedroom like our main character does at the start of the game.
In terms of the main character's story, she is in a similar spot to where I am in my life right now. I am a couple of years younger than her, in my early thirties, and though I have not had a child myself, everything else is similar: relationship-wise, health-wise, career-wise, and (hopefully soon) home ownership-wise. This time in my life feels like the closing of one chapter and the start of another -- most definitely not the end.

Lady Wolphie replied to [SPOILER] The "conclusion" of the game January 28, 2022 @ 2:48:24 pm PSTHonestly, I just view her as being happy, in a stable situation, and she even got a child with her partner (which could be REALLY hard to achieve in her case, as most same gender couples are still really frowned upon when they try to adopt). I was crying when I noticed that, even if I personally don't want a child, it was obvious to me they both really wanted one.
I don't know if "more content" would be a great thing, the child will eventually move out, the two girls from the couple would grow older, and I don't really want to end on a sad note, the conclusion is great as it is. If more content was added, I personally would like to see another person's story, maybe someone related to the current character in some way?

Atro replied to [SPOILER] The "conclusion" of the game January 28, 2022 @ 9:54:28 pm PSTI imagined the developer(s) being in that stage of their life. And it makes sense since we obviously will create art and stories from our own perspective and life experiences. I wish you the best for the rest of your life going forward and you are right, there is more to come, and change happens all the time.
Even though each of our stories obviously differ in the details, you really managed to capture the feeling of growing up. In a way it felt like a relaxed time travel.
For me, at the end of the game, I just got this feeling of: "Huh, where is the rest of the journey?". Not as a criticism towards the game itself, but more because I don't feel like one chapter ended and now I live in the next one haha.
But perhaps I did at that point?
Again, this is no criticism of the technicalities of the game. I think it is wonderful as it is. And doesn't need more content or anything. This is just some hobby-philosophical thoughts about how I felt about it, while playing.
@Lady Wolphie
It really isn't sad to grow old or that your children move out, if you happen to have them. It is just more stories. But I do see that most game developers are young-ish and their audience is, too. So, your viewpoint is of course perfectly fine. And I also felt happy for the couple in the end.
