Yuven replied to VR DEVS LAZY?????? UPDATE WHENN?????! January 18, 2022 @ 9:32:09 pm PSTthey cant even do a proper desktop mode while other games actually did it quite well and still have tons of people.
in a few more years, pretty the game will dissapear, and well deserved.

Pretty much...
I'm just happy they have a Desktop mode, most VR games don't. Not that I have a clue on what "a proper" desktop mode is... how much more does one need?
Anyway... most games do disappear after years.... I play a few games on Steam that are losing 100's if not 1.000's of players every month...
VRChat however is growing and not losing numbers of players, those Developer game updates and letting people know they are still working on things would be no small part of that continued growth I would say...
December 2019 - 7,346
December 2020 - 12,744
December 2021 - 17,798*
Disappear?... 10,000+ ~more~ players in two years?... some Steam games don't even have half that in TOTAL players... well deserved indeed.
*Note: that's ~just~ Steam players... not counting the VRChat home page launcher, etc.

maybe its time to check more games (Thing I did to compare), basic stuff like being able to move your arms would actually help everyone.
decent desktop or no desk at all, which actually doesnt help the game at all from what ive seen.
check how much actually have VR, especially full ones.

So list some... I'd be interested in seeing what games have those features you just wrote.
As far as "decent desktop or no desk at all"... I rather have poor desktop then no desktop.

Yuven replied to VR DEVS LAZY?????? UPDATE WHENN?????! January 19, 2022 @ 6:13:58 pm PSTthe last week ive tried rec room, have you tried? it has actually both arms and hands control for desktop, very well programmed. The problem is that the community however is quite young and underaged from what ive seen, but the gameplay is great.Im pretty sure you know what unity is capable of and using your own anim and interface that should be in basegame.

I personally think that the game lives on the desktop mode more than anything and is the hugest crowd of the game, along with the new quest. Not providing basic codes for it is not very pretty.

Interesting... will look into that.
But you also admired that's more desktop... VRChat is more VR... still, very interesting.

Both are quite Vr, but Vr chat has way more freedom and technical capacity-in the hands of the players- than rec room, which makes it more interesting overall. Also more places and time for mature people.
I truly think that everyone should have the basic option to express themself, no matter the devices they play on. VR will always be way far superior no matter what, no need to lack on the programming part for other devices in my humble opinion; Hurts everyone. If a clone with better codding on controls comes up, which is gonna probably appear soon due to current worldwide situation, things might ends up clearer.
they way Vr chat covers that topic- and how big part of the full vr crowd sit all day looking at the mirror touching themself- is one of the big reasons why I never wanted to touch vr for now. the other is the price ofc.
