Ok is it just me or does it feel that chaff does jack like idk maybe skill issue but i spam chaff and defend but it does absolutely nothing. Oh and also the ability to independently pop flares and chaff would be sick just sayin.

Depends what type of missile you are tying to counter.

Heatseakers in this game already go after flares much more than IRL, but later radar guided missiles wont care much about flares.

The way i see it. Chaff has no decent application in air-to-air combat, but can be useful against ground anti-air.

In air realistic battle it's usable in 10.3 if you plan on flying at high altitude. As it defeats the garbage radars easily. But flares are much more valuable and radar missiles can be defeated easily with simple maneuvers unlike some of the IR missiles.


Even at top tier. Chaff is pretty much meaningless, cause of PD radar.

Older radars, like those seen on MiG-21, F-4C, Maybe MiG-23 etc will be affected by Chaff.

Later Pulse Dopplar equipped units won't give a crap about your shiny confetti and notching will be necessary.
