Saw this video the other day. My main take away was one of the lines he said in response to Spookston saying "The customer is not always correct." And that was something alone the lines of, "The customer is always correct. The customer is not one or two Karens, it is the collective of clients."

Ah great now I hate fair business practices and consumers. Damn it.

Just what we need, someone who doesn't play the game weighing in on a situation he got from a 10 minute video.

Reaction content is cringe to begin with, but now he's just drawing his audience to add fuel to the fire. This situation has a huge amount of context, and him weighing in provides zero.

I think Spookstons does a pretty good job explaining the issue in a way that anyone who plays games can understand. I don't know who Asmongold is, but he mentions his experience with other games with developers pushing longer and longer grinds to encourage paying to skip/help the grind.

I'd say the concept of devs getting greedy and nerfing player economies is a pretty universal experience for games right now.

Yes, but I still don't like the fact that someone who's never played the game afaik bring his massive audience into something they probably won't bother to learn the details about.

It's a blatant attempt to pick up some clicks. And it's doing the community no good, because we don't need more people roaming around screaming P2W!!! Shill!!! and then refusing to elaborate.

That is not on the content creator to really police. He can obviously state "Hey guys, don't go and harass people because of this," but covering a topic does no harm for anyone but Gajin (who deserve it at this point.)

Creating awareness for an issue is just that, creating awareness, by reacting to it to a larger audience. If Gajin was operating fairly right now and it looked like they were making a genuine attempt to fix the issue, I would probably say yeah, probably not a good idea for people with no full context to hop in. But they haven't done that, and they've said they won't do that for months.

More awareness for gaijin being greedy evil and disconnected from its community is good.
