Dropping patches on friday is extremely bad cause you have no idea what kind of bugs it will introduce. It's entirely possible to introduce something game breaking and it won't be fixed till monday or tuesday.

It'll probably be released on a monday or tuesday or something like that, releasing it as all devs are about to go on weekend is a really bad idea.

Thursday is an industry wide patch day so it has nothing to do with weekends being close.

Since when and for what industry?

Every game I've played and every company I've worked for has always pushed patches on tuesday or wednesday at the latest.

Hell, even for my own stuff I push updates on tuesdays. Who the hell pushes major updates on a thursday?

Probably the larger sub companies at EA and Activision. But as I play their "newer" titles years after release I haven't ever been around for the patches if they do happen on thursdays.

Not quite, I own star wars jedi fallen order and survivor, along with COD MW2 and some older games, even from them patches mostly happen on tuesday and wednesdays.

Even checking a couple EA and activison games on SteamDB, their build release history is largely tuesday/wednesday with monday here and there sprinkled in.

Across like 11 games checked, there isn't a single patch released on a thursday or friday.

Hence why I want to know where the hell this dude pulled "it's industry standard" from because I have never seen this happen. The only things I've seen release on thursday/friday are hotfixes for outright game breaking updates.

In that case yeah, the only game I play semi up to date aside from war thunder is Honkai Impact but even with that I disappear for months on end and usually show up after patches have released.
