What killed WarThunder for you?
For me, even with premium account the grind time to upgrade was insane and overall costs of purchasing new tanks or planes, crews, upgrades and the repair costs actually give me a headache....that's just the tip of the iceberg but what killed WarThuder for you???
I displayed my love of the game by uninstalling the game and made a pledge onto myself not to play again until something drastically changes, as the game has grown into the most unenjoyable mess imaginable.

『Sinner』 replied to What killed WarThunder for you? May 24, 2023 @ 10:54:32 am PDTIt started off with the grind, but lately it has been Gajins horrible response. I wanna start by saying I don't have any bad feelings for the moderators here, I moderate for another forum, I can understand how tough it is having to ride out issues when you have no input. My hate is also not for the real developers at Gajin, the coders, modelers, bug testers, etc.
My anger is towards Gajins management and upper staff. The clear pressure and influence on making the game more monetized by making the economy worse and worse to pressure players towards premiums and premium time.
At the same time as well, bringing in new players to buy their way into the game by advertising modern stuff and introducing more and more top tier premiums.

Economic, bugs, weird maps, but mostly...
Balance.
When you on german Panther D fight vs american M26 and cant even scratch it...
And you fight against it almost every battle-it irritating.
70 % of my battles was against players who have BR higher, than my.
I tried to be better, but finally I just leave and played another games.
Forget about War Thunder. Forever.

terrible compression around the playable BRs (5.0-8.0BR)
grindy timelimited events (that 2day or smething timelimit is such a joke)
horrible Gaijin response to the community and gaslighting their players and threatening to kill the game
"amazing" WT Steam mods roleplaying like we are living in 1984 were a helpful bonus too

Rollout replied to What killed WarThunder for you? May 24, 2023 @ 11:07:08 am PDTI am seriously considering un-installing the game at this point. Even though I have spent $700 dollars on the game and still have thousands of gold eagles.
Aside from all the serious in game issues we all know about, I have just had a couple of posts deleted because I asked an honest and pertinent, and of course, politely worded question. I then got a warning because I re-posted the question.
Does un-installing the game have any further affect other than just leaving a bad review?
the warnings tend to show up once you mention things they dont like, seen that happen before.
however! i did both!
1. bad review updated and
2. uninstalled untill i see a change.

no new gamemodes, everything is getting boring
I agree, it does become monotonic and boring. Example like Hunt Showdown does these events where every few months gets these new gamemodes and if you want you can join but if you complete the event you are given free items to keep forever. Free items that are only exclusive to that particular event, so it makes you feel that you're getting something special. Items you cannot even buy with DLC, making them even more unique. Also it is a way for the devs to say thank you for playing, you keep them forever and can use them freely. Others see this and want it too but soon find that they can't buy it, so they stick around for the next event. War Thunder needs to do something similar but I know they won't.

RetroAuzzieDucky replied to What killed WarThunder for you? May 24, 2023 @ 11:09:07 am PDTThe moment they started doing era's above WW2 + Early Cold War-ish. I used to remember having actual fun just being in my tiger and shooting other WW2 vehicles that I'm SUPPOSED to go up against. I kinda stopped playing before even trying to fight these days but it seems like actual hell seeing king tigers get ruined by missles and what not.
Also when the Maus got removed from the proper german tech tree and only able to be researched in events, that too.

af_sting replied to What killed WarThunder for you? May 24, 2023 @ 11:09:38 am PDTMy biggest complaint - stagnant maps and scenarios that result in groundhog day game play. ....and throwing rock-eating acid snow over existing maps does not make a new map.
Next biggest complaint - shady business practices and poor customer relations.
For full disclosure, I've had all the tanks I wanted for over five years now (I have the entire US line, but I like WWII and rarely play over 6.3 anymore....top tier is boring to me) and I have 450 million+ SLs in the bank, so the economy fiasco really does not directly impact me (especially since I do not really play much anymore.)

OtherACTION replied to What killed WarThunder for you? May 24, 2023 @ 11:12:47 am PDT- Grind
- Low SL rewards
- High repair costs
- High Vehicle costs
- Changes in AAM making them inoperable
- Nerfing ground vehicles and making grind 3x harder than any other mode
- Heavy focused on making premium vehicles that are too OP for normal vehicles to compete against
- Overpressure not working over half the time and vague disclosure on how it works
- No limitations for the amount of planes/drones/helicopters to be used in ground battles, SP dont matter if you can just cap with a low SP cost tank and jump into an aircraft early on
- No balancing for matchmaking, ONLY Air Arcade Battles have REAL balance with their Average BR matchmaking while all other modes have Highest BR matchmaking
