is this some sort of ploy to inflate workshop engagement? is that even a thing that matters? why can't i 100% the game by just playing?

Yeah I really wish we didn't need workshop upvotes for achievements, it's so bizarre.

Ditto, I've put the time into creating some maps and it's gotten me nowhere.

I 100% agree, I get it was to encourage people to upload creations but its just people trying to like farm.
You still see the occasional good upload though, alot of people are quite talented when it comes to using it as an art tool.

BTW did you know that you can get those achievements yourself?
Just upload a world -> like it yourself, repeat 6 more times.

agreed, its clogging up the workshop, not to mention kids also steal maps which is probably why ppl hardly make original maps anymore

well, i do see new maps but original ones and not spam get lost or stolen

Steam achievements don't matter. This is hardly a question of cartesian doubt.

You haven't established that things suck because steam achievements suck the same amount here as they do everywhere else.

if you don't understand the discussion it's likely it wasn't meant for you then. and if the issue doesn't bother you, then it shouldn't matter if it's fixed either, right? you would lose nothing in this equation. some people are bothered by this, and the people that aren't bothered by this would not be affected negatively if this was changed. what's the point of arguing against a net positive for the game when you have no stake in the outcome? just for the sake of it? that's really constructive. /s
