They don't. I have tried and it doesn't work.I'm pretty sure they don't load automatically by justbeing in the mod folder. You have to register them somewhere.

They go in the mod folder. Then they should show up in the SP list of available mods.

Ah, then something is bugged for you unless you are in too shallow of water. I only tested it on The Island after transferring it there on a non dedicated.

Just put the other foundation on it and it will break the thatch under without breaking your house. This goes for every thing you want to upgrade in the thatch wood stone metal tiers.
