I know this is a noob question, but hey i am a noob. I just recently started playing this game about 3 weeks ago, coming from games like diablo 2-3. In D3 when you get new gear you can tell at a glance if the item is better or not. You also can see if your damage goes up overall.

Here in MH there seem to be more stats in general. So lets say i have a Medallion that gives me 200 damage rating. When i equip it i can see my damage go up in the orange box on the hero tab. However, when i equip lets say a medallion that does 300 energy damage rating the damage in the orange box will go down vs the medallion with the pure damage rating.

So my question is, (and i am playing Storm btw which my skills are energy damage) is it better to use the medallion with 300 energy damage rating over the 200 damage rating even though the orange box says i have less damage with the energy damage rating medallion?

I also searched the forums here and read plenty of articles that say both are great but couldn't find anything to answer this particular question. Hope that makes sense and again sorry for the noob question.

Thanks in advance for any help. Also, this game rocks and wish i had tried it sooner. Blows D3 out the window.
